ARVIGO TECHNIQUES OF MAYAN ABDOMINAL THERAPY

 

It is very common for the uterus to be displaced and unfortunately modern medicine doesn't recognize it as a potential factor for the symptoms listed below. Women are given the options of using the birth control pill, muscle relaxants or surgery and are generally told that it's not a concern if the uterus is tipped.   • An evaluation and application of structural alignment of the spine with attention to the sacrum, lumbar and thoracic spine.

o Vaginal Steam Instructions 

  • Recommendation of complementary modalities:

o Nutritional and or lifestyle education and adaptations

o Faja (organ support wrap)

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS, CAUTIONS AND MODIFICATIONS

 

The Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal Therapy are safe and effective, but there are certain conditions where application of these techniques are either contraindicated or require modification.

 

Please note when you make your appointment if you use a pessary for uterine prolapse (remove prior to your session)

 

Maya is contraindicated if you:

 

  • are actively menstruating

  • are in your first trimester of pregnancy

  • have an IUD (Intra-Uterine Device for contraception)

  • have had recent abdominal surgery (less than 6 weeks)

  • have an active and acute infection

  • have an abdominal aneurysm

  • have an active infection or cancer present in pelvic area

  • are undergoing chemotherapy
